Dynamics 365 - Remove Incoming emails prefixing

If your Dynamics 365 or Dynamics CRM instance is tracking incoming emails to the system, you will notice that each incoming email has a prefix like this "CRM:000xxxxx" what is the purpose of this?



NOTE: If you are running email auto creation workflows to create Cases, Leads, opportunities etc., disabling emails tokens might stop this functionality


If you choose to track incoming emails which are replies to an email sent from the CRM, then it will use this tokens to match emails and to track them, however, disabling these tokens will not stop your organization from tracking email, it will start matching the emails based on the email subject text.

So if there is a requirement to remove incoming email prefixing, this will not cause any problem, and below are the steps to do it,


1- From Settings navigate to Administration



2- Click on System Settings


3- Click on the "Email" tab, scroll down and untick the "Use Tracking Option"



4- Click Okay
